Granular alkali is granular caustic soda, also known as pearl alkali, a kind of solid caustic soda (sodium hydroxide), chemical formula: NaOH. According to the particle size, it can be divided into coarse-grained alkali and fine-grained alkali. The particle size of fine-grained alkali is about 0.7mm, which is very similar to washing powder in shape.
Characteristic
The solid base is easy to deliquesce and react with carbon dioxide, so the storage of solid base generally needs certain drying and sealing.
Granular alkali is a solid sodium hydroxide with all chemical properties of sodium hydroxide. When it is placed in the air, it will absorb moisture in the air and deliquesce. It will react with carbon dioxide and deteriorate. Dry and sealed packaging is also required on the packaging. In China, 25kg three-layer plastic woven bags are generally used to package granular alkali.
